Dead in the Water with a Broken Propeller Again? »
Posted By Spadecaller 9 months ago in NewsThis is not deja vous; we’ve been here before. Once again members at Propeller are experiencing a myriad of errors and bugs when trying to post stories, comment, prop articles, and to navigate through the new and "improved" website. Although management has made a great effort in the recent past to satisfy the disgruntled community after installing the anemic and dysfunctional Propeller 2.0, once again Mr. Spinhead has run ashore. How long will we be lost in cyberspace with a broken Propeller this time?

Many apologies for the recent technical problems. Our development team has ordered new DB hosts and we're hoping to straighten out these glitches within a few days. Meanwhile, I know site navigation is frustrating (with a strong Magical Mystery Tour element to it) and we appreciate your patience.

The hills of Bohemia are alive with the sounds of wailing and gnashing of teeth..
But bless your cotton socks for being here James!
And if you could give us Mr Propellerhead's head on a platter - or even better have him pushed over a cliff -that would make many of us feel MUCH happier, I'm sure..
I don't know how he appears on anyone else's computer but when he appears with that 404 message on my screen he looms and leers and his conceit of trying to pretend that YOU [meaning me] made the mistake when he knows perfectly well that he's lying through his teeth is intolerable!!
The real pity is that we do lose some of the best and boldest in these unintended and unfortunate shake-ups :(
I noticed a particularly "empty" front-page recently and did the forensics on it - how many total props, comments, etc. and they were pretty dismal.
Save, copy, send.. hold breath.. -

LMAO hahahaahaaha HAHAHAAHAHAAAAAA !!!!!!!
It is with my deepest regrets that I must concur wholeheartedly with ya !!! LOL
Not to worry though. I'm sure this comment will end up as an error 500.
If it doesn't it might end up somewhere else.
I have to keep laughing though. Because the bull crap would really irritate me if I stayed focused on it.
Hi Ho Hi Ho they've made it worse ya know. With an error here and a message there, it's off in disgust I go. Hahahahaaaaaa -

Half of the submissions on the front page, from groups and pm's I have arrived at via server error number 404 and then refreshing.

When searching for a member who wasn't banned, hadn't deleted account, I arrived at their page via a server error number 400 (I know stoners wasn't banned.).
I commented on Spades submission yesterday regarding "the brokenhearted" and it took so long to load that I never got a server error number 500 and to close out and post again.
Welcome to wonderful world of weird. -

It seems to be getting progressively worse, though it is rather comical sometimes with the way replies show up all over the place. Certainly doesn't make me want to bother trying to navigate through a thread with dozens of comments, much less add to the fray.

Ivrofwolves I replied to Cajun camp's comment above about sending feedback. It disappeared just like one of my comments yesterday on Spades "broken hearted" thread.

I didn't get a server error 500, didn't get a server error 404, didn't get a server error 400 either. I got no indication that the comment didn't load. AND NO I didn't hit cancel either.
I've had this happen sometimes when I've tried to send a pm to a friend.
I will say this though CajunChamp: Every time there was a problem or bug since the new propeller went into effect and I sent feedback I've always gotten a reply from someone.
Also as to why you may not bet getting a lot of feedback, some of us are friends with some of the technicians, anchors, and scouts and get feedback from them. They are also here submitting, posting and commenting, etc and experiencing the same things we are. Sometimes some of us only have time to prop stories and check or send messages.
(Hint to any new member: when replying to a comment try to always have the members name or initials first or in the first sentence. Helps you keep track of your comments. We all learned that on the old Netscape.)
