This looks to me suspiciously like information that has been available for thousands of years and is effectively the same as meditation..
Its been available to me for a very long time too and this IS a timely reminder to prioritise - and to remember that there is an OFF switch somewhere on my computer, though I've forgotten where the heck it is!
    NOW & ZEN!!!!

IsraGeek. An excellent post. I was under the impression that the REM and the shallow sleep indicated a "brain dream" time. I have always looked on brain dream activity as random electrical activity initiated by "Life". Everyone experiences it. I didn't see that refuted in the article so I'm not sure if the article was claiming to have discovered something already discovered or were claiming something entirely new, as the author suggests.

As long as there is life present, there is brain activity. So I'm not sure why the surprise. The difference between my computer and my brain is the "life force activity". If my computer was "alive" I'll just bet, the same or similar activity could be observed.
