Barack Obama's heavy handed approach on the stimulus is beginning to take it's toll on the approval ratings of the Democrats.

Are Republicans winning the public relations battle over spending in the $800-billion-plus economic stimulus package? Democrats and Republicans are nearly even in this week's edition of the Generic Congressional Ballot.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone surveys found that the Democrats’ lead is down to just one percentage point. Forty percent (40%) of voters said they would vote for their district’s Democratic candidate while 39% said they would choose the Republican.

Keep it up Barry O and you will be the one hit wonder that we all know you are.

        Democratics fillibuster new regulations
        
        There were no regulation bills that died from a Senate filibuster. The bills didn't pass the House either where there is no filibuster. Here's why Republicans, in control of both houses of Congress and the White House, did not pass any new regulations of Freddie and Fannie: Bush's ownership society. This is a direct quote from Bush's 2004 nomination acceptance speech.
        
        "Another priority for a new term is to build an ownership society, because ownership brings security, and dignity, and independence. Thanks to our policies, homeownership in America is at an all-time high. (Applause.) Tonight we set a new goal: seven million more affordable homes in the next 10 years so more American families will be able to open the door and say: Welcome to my home. (Applause.)"
        
        I didn't see Bush saying "thanks to the policies of my friends Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, homeownership in America is at an all-time high." That because he was too busy taking credit for all the subprime mortgages himself. Amazing that Republicans now want to pin the whole mess on Frank and Dodd when Bush practically broke his arm patting himself on the back for all the new homeowners.

        You don't actually expect the GOP to take responsibility for this mess do you?
        They have been screaming for deregulation for the last 30 y4ears. Little by little they have achieved it. Now the results are hitting the US in the fact, and suddenly they wamt to blame it all on the other party.

  Didn't previous administration passed a bill twice as big as Obama few months ago?
  Republican politicians didn't have any problem with that.
  What a disgusting, partisan attitude. They once again prove that they are there with selfish interest rather than saving US. On the other hand you see Senator Kennedy, a Democrat SELFLESSLY returned to the Senate in the midst of his battle with brain cancer Monday to vote for our new President's economic stimulus package.

      where did the bill come from? it came from the administration, remember at first their was to be no accountability for ex goldman sachs. it was the administrations brainchild and the dems went along with it - everyone had referred to them as the lame duck congress and they didnt want to do nothing
