Rush Limbaugh: Champion of Big, Powerful Government »
Posted By Shana4Liberty 10 months, 1 week ago in NewsTo those “conservatives” who look to Rush Limbaugh as a spokesman for the cause of limited, constitutional government, this should silence any doubts as to where Rush stands when it comes to big government. His rant just about sums up everything that is wrong with what the “conservative” movement has become especially during the eight years of the Bush Administration (but clearly getting underway with the “Gingrich Revolution”). The so-called conservative movement is dead, and anyone who wants to understand why would do well to read Rush’s actual words here. I don’t think he was joking at all when he said, “It’s going to be a bigger, more powerful, stronger government — and we’re going to turn it against the left in ways they could have never imagined.”

What Rush said was that with Obama the government will become extremely large, not a good thing, and the the conservatives will be able to show this when he fails!

Where in the world did you get that he "wanted" the government to be big with his statement? -

Rush is an "entertainer" in the sense that prostitutes are entertainers. This drug addled, hypocritical moron is no more to be believed or listened to than a loud dog fart. As a blowhard, stupid, bitter, lying turd, he is true to his genre. He is not to be feared, but rather, pitied. I hope he enjoys his huge salary and his status as a "Neocon God" because to most intelligent Americans he is an object of pity and ridicule.

Yes, I disagree with the sh*t and hate that he spouts, but I served my hitch in the Army to defend his right to say it. Which is more than that yellow bellied chicken hawk can say to defend his fat, drug addicted, miserable stinking carcass.-

Wow, your rant sounds like a description of liberalism. For a second there I thought your tripe was aimed at thought grounded in reason. Then I saw how you described someone who doesn't share your liberal hypocrisy and realized what you are, (and what all liberals are); true, anti-american myrmidons.

Yeah he has a right to be an idiot.
I also fought for the right to disagree with his delusional and self serving rants.
That is the part that angers me about him. He is a complete totalitarian in his rabid and hateful disinformation and right wing propaganda.
It is his right to speak, but he has a moral obligation to tell the truth.
But being void of any morality he is incapable of being truthful. Ergo the vapid and insidious hate speak to enrage the fearful right wing ideology and incite feelings of superiority in the inferior.

Endo, you seem to be an expert on the rush show which means an idiot about the real world. That would explain why you are completely wrong about Acorn and sub prime loans. You were lied to and are either too stupid or to lazy to know it or care. There is absolutely nothing in the CRA that mandates making bad loans. It says if you make good loans in one neighborhood you have to make the same good loan in another neighborhood. Sub prime loaning was about greed and ideas like house flipping. The bank and customer agree to a loan that they both know can not be repaid but they are both betting they can resell the house as a profit and use that to pay off the loan. It was the era of no money down late night gurus who talked about owning 4 houses in their 20's. The reality is the didn't "own" anything. They just were borrowing money to play the housing market like vegas. Why don't you come back when you know something other than what some fat junkie told you.

Cowboy - If Rush had a "moral obligation to tell the truth" then that would apply to not only commentaters like Rush and Puddington or whatever her name is, then also for the newscasters for television. Yes even msnbc would have a moral obligation not to have tingles down their legs, or or admiring actions.

This rant never got around to saying what Rush said other than one sentence. At least when he quotes people he plays a long piece of them saying what he wants to talk about giving what went before and after thus putting the comment in context. Then this person takes off an a long rant. He foolishly points to Ron Paul who is the darling of the Nazi and KKK groups. He takes their money and never repudiates them of gives the money back.
Reply
This person gives the lie that the Republicans caused this financial mess.
"he totally ignores the horrible things done by so-called “conservatives” that helped set the stage for the events happening now."
The housing bubble caused the financial mess. How did it happen? Too many people who could not afford houses bought them and in 2006 the foreclosures started and popped the bubble.
Why were people buying houses like that? ACORN lobbied the government starting in 1990 because Fannie and Freddy would not take loans with less than 10% down. Horrors. In 1992 they were successful with changing CRA from minorities to all poor. Other banking laws were changed as well. No down payment, low starting ARM, no principal for years, no checking ability to pay for the poor. Great compassion. Rated banks on giving enough CRA loans. If not enough no expansion or mergers. Brought a lot of new buyers to the housing market. Builders could not build fast enough. Bubble started up in 1995 when the new laws went into effect. Kept on raising till 2006. The great compassion of Democrats at work.
Any mention of problems the Democrats went to the mat defending Fannie and Freddy. Accused regulators of trying to kill all CSE's etc. Barney Frank said in no uncertain terms there was absolutely no problem there. He was well paid for that speec2005 and 6 the ARMS started kicking in as well as principal payments. Oops the people could not keep up the payments. Foreclosures! Builders still building like crazy. Too many houses on the market. Crash went the housing market.
Uh oh! All of those mortgaged backed papers that the Freddy, Fannie, and Ginnie gave out were based on the sell price of that mortgage. All of those mortgage based papers lost over 30% and climbing. Banks failed and all institutions that held those papers had that much money sucked out of them going into vapor.
Is this liberal proud of the accomplishment that the Democrats have in giving people new homes? He ignores it like most libs. Keep in mind those laws are still in force forcing banks to give bad loans in order to have a good CRA rating.-

Please explain, IN DETAIL, just what Rush has "lied" about. I've heard this repeatedly for years and yet I've never seen the FACTS demonstrating a falsehood presented by the accuser.
In so far as your stating to Endoscopy, "That would explain why you are completely wrong about Acorn and sub prime loans." , he IS NOT wrong (and why the ad hominem attacks --- is the school yard still in your blood?). Though there is nothing in the CRA itself mandating the financing of bad mortgages, there was GREAT pressure, both overt and subtle, under the Clinton Administration's Justice Department , in the person of Janet (The-Killer-of-Waco) Reno, for lending institutions to DISREGARD the accepted, and established, home mortgage formula and get poorer people into houses. As far as the Democrats defending the executives at Freddie Mac and Freddie Mae, where have you been the last year? There were YouTube videos aplenty dealing with this subject, CORRABORATING what Endoscopy stated, displaying the participants speaking their own words, ESPECIALLY Barney Frank. What more would a reasonable person require for proof? They also showed former President George W. Bush seeking MORE REGULATION.

I love it when moronic, stupefied liberals try and parse what it is that Limbaugh is actually saying. Unless you listen to his show everyday, there is no way you can put his words in context by a sound bite. Liberals: brain dead minions of original thought.

And so everyone will know, Dr. Kennedy (the author) is NOT a liberal. He's a small government Republican.
AND to Endoscopy, Dr. Paul did repudiate the stormfront idiot who sent him the $500. He said he was glad to take the money away from people who would use it to spread hate and use it spread the message of freedom instead.

There is a huge difference between people like him and bush and the real republican party.
Here in my district we just had a "real" republican Senator die.
Here name was Mary Lundby..Died of cancer a bout a month ago.I loved that woman..i didn't agree with all of her positions..but i,and many other democrats, respected her and always knew that she had the peoples best interest at heart..With her, very little was about ideology,it was about service to her state and country.People were always first. She was a true republican. Not some entity like rush that calls themselves republican. She stood head and shoulders above people like him and bush.
Personally i wish that limpballs would OD on a hand full of OXY..The world would be a better place.-

One Republican commentator (prior to his immediate dismissal) said Bush and fellow Republicans were spending money like drunken Democrats.
Ironic is it not? The Republicans expanded Government power exponentially. And violated laws, and ethics, in their rush to 'turdblossom' their opponents. And now the day has come when every un/check and un/balance'd power handed to the Bu$h Administration on a silver platter, is now in the hands of those they loath. -

Agree with him or not, hes entertaining as a radio show host and he can engage his audience, thats his job. He has some of the highest ratings in radio and frankly, liberal talk radio is boring and has very little to offer in terms of talent. Hes on so many stations because he sells...even if he was a two headed moster with jello for brains he makes his sponsors money. And perscription pain pills? So what? As if none of you ever did anything similar in the past, were all human.

What is a Conservative? No one really knows..Ask ten so called Conservatives what they stand for and you will get ten different answers....We have NeoCons, which gave us 8 years of G.W. and that turned out to be a failed experment. We have DittoCons, which is really a joke and a even bigger joke is the SarahCons. Then we have Christian Conservatives which is a classic Oxymoron. The only thing they all have in common is they basis themselves on , Fear and Hate. When I was growing up the Republicans had only one bonding agent Hate of F.D.R. and the fear of Russia. Today they would call themselves Conservatives.

14% of conservative voted for Obama. They believe that Obama will be so bad that a true conservative (like Reagan) can take the White House back in 2012.
If that 14% had voted for McCain (who they felt did not reflect conservative values) McCain would have won the election. This nation is split and it's anybody's election in 2012.-

coymoy, I'm not sure if conservatives voted for Obama with the hopes of failure. I wasn't planning to vote at all until Palin came along. Many conservatives, like me, were so mad at our party for running such losers like McCain. Most felt that the election was a waste of our time. When I looked at Obama and McCain, the choice was which Democrat do you vote for. Obama's lead wasn't that great taking into account all of the voting irregularities. At least here in Wisconsin there around 5,000 votes counted that were fake. Most were from areas where voter turnout was 15 to 20% over the actual population of the town. Whoops...

As to 2012, I think 2010 will be a huge victory for the GOP. Obama should still be in the honeymoon, he isn't. Even ABC is coming after him. I just hope we stay a two party system. With the practices and procedures of the DNC, many freedoms are at risk.

Oh please. When have you ever heard of a liberal actually listening to someone with a differing opinion? Their idea of fairness or free speech is when you walk and talk in lockstep with them. There is no such thing as bipartisan with a Dem. It's either their way or start with the name calling and attacks.
