BB..you and I, and many Regan conservatives felt the same way. I wasn't planning to vote...first time since I became of age. When Gov. Palin was selected, I cast my ballot...knowing Sen. McCain was a lost cause, yet hoping to make a statement. I do not consider myself a Republican. (to paraphrase..."The Party left Me.") I will support only conservative candidates and am considering my options in a new party.

As to Rush... He chided President(s) Bush, hard and long, for their kinder/gentler brand of moderate leadership. I applaud the man who single-handedly saved AM radio. I applaud him for not waffling one iota on Conservative thought and opinion. I believe the writer of this article simply tried to gain an audience for his thesis, (Conservatism is dead), by attacking one of its' major proponents. He succeeded simply by offering half-quotes and mentioning Rush in his headline. Maybe he has a future as an anchor at MSNBC?
