    People will pay a lot of money for silly things.

    Personally, I'd rather buy medicine, food and shelter for a few thousand people than a letter Einstein held or wrote. But each to their own.

    As for letter writing -- it's fast becoming a lost art as many turn to the less formal, more ephemeral (in a sense) email.
