While I've never been supportive of retributions for the manner in which George W. Bush and Dick Cheney perverted our Republic .... I see no problem with a 'Truth and Reconciliation' type effort.

The Right Wing Extremists in America should understand that Patriotic Americans care about this nation and will never again tolerate their willingness to see America fail.

I don't see it as retribution. I see it as investigating crimes, to which we are all subjest - especially all us (according to W & Cheney) unamerican, terrorist-loving, terrorism enabling, traitors. You know, like those riot-inciting Quakers W investigated.

It is absolutely IMPERATIVE that SOMETHING be done to address the offenses of the past administration. If we are to represent ourselves to the world as a nation of laws, then the laws must be enforced! The actions of the Bush administration validated the terrorists rather than marginalized them.

I would much rather see this go to the Department of Justice for investigation. Commissions, such as the 9/11 commission, don't go far enough. While they 'touched' on missed opportunities by the bush administration leading up to 9/11, they didn't go so far as to hold those 'missed opportunities' responsible. (I'm speaking of ignoring the warnings). I remember when Rice complained that the 'August memo' didn't tell them a date or place, not ONE commission member asked her why they couldn't have been proactive, like increasing airline security. They just let her ridiculous comment slide.

No, this 'commission' doesn't make me happy at all. Just another opportunity to 'spin' the significance of what the bush administration did.-

It’s nice to see that the shackles of the Bush Administration are being removed from Republicans in Congress. This is the hope and change that a good number of voters were looking for.

Hopefully, the Obama Administration will make good of its campaign promise to investigate any supposed crime that may have been committed by the Bush Administration. This promise was one of the main reasons that Obama got my vote. Integrity needs to be restored to our government and Bush needs to be held responsible for any crimes that he and his cronies may have committed during the past eight years.
