A Japanese farmer has succeeded in breeding giant strawberries, and each has a price tag of up to 50,000 yen (Rs 27,000), media reports said Thursday.

    Those are some large straeberries, I bet it would take one just for a strawberrie short cake.

    Wiki. I used to raise my own strawberries. The smaller sweeter kind is what I raised. They are more trouble to pick and prepar but they are surely worth it.

    we used to raise strawberries too when growing up, i guess we had 2 or 3 acres, i hated it then, but wish for the simpler times now, thanks wiki

        We have wild strawberries growing on some native pasture and a really large one would be the size of your little fingernail but the flavor would drive you wild. The only thing that you can do with these wild ones is pick em and eat em, a hours worth of picking might get you a cup and a half of berries, I'm with Wolfie the bigger berries usually don't have the flavor. Good artical though.
