A Torture Report Could Spell Big Trouble For Bush Lawyers »
Posted By berkeley 10 months, 1 week ago in Political NewsAn internal Justice Department report on the conduct of senior lawyers who approved waterboarding and other harsh interrogation tactics is causing anxiety among former Bush administration officials. H. Marshall Jarrett, chief of the department's ethics watchdog unit, the Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR), confirmed last year he was investigating whether the legal advice in crucial interrogation memos "was consistent with the professional standards that apply to Department of Justice attorneys." According to two knowledgeable sources who asked not to be identified discussing sensitive matters, a draft of the report was submitted in the final weeks of the Bush administration. It sharply criticized the legal work of two former top officials— Jay Bybee and John Yoo —as well as that of Steven Bradbury, who was chief of the Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) at the time the report was submitted, the sources said. (Bybee, Yoo and Bradbury did not respond to multiple requests for comment.)

Does the report get to mention that Bush briefed Reid and Pelosi on these actions, or is that too inconvenient a truth for this terrorist friendly crowd?

Meanwhile, the Bush admin left over a warrantless wiretapping issue. Obama had the opportunity to squash. Time for change, right?
Wrong.

TORTURE--OR NO ????
WATERBOARDING---
LETS NO BLOOD---
BREAKS NO BONES----
LEAVES NO SCARS....
CAN BE PERFORMED DAY AFTER DAY--
THEN YOU HAVE --BEHEADING--CAN NOT BE DOE MORE THAN ONCE...
DRAGING BODY DOWN STREET---CAN ONLY BE DONE ONCE....
Beheading and torturing foreign citizen under invasion and occupation cannot be justified at all. And it is not the same as torture. Beheading the criminals by Middle Eastern governments which are despotic but your governments puppets. Anyway it severs a lesson for potential criminals but here the country which calls itself civilized world cannot effort to engage torturing suspects and other inhuman acts you mentioned above. In fact these criminals acts are performed under the very nose of the civilized world in secret Nazi prisons in Guantanamo and other secret locations. It is a crying shame for a great country like the United States of America. Of course Zionist like you will do or say anything to survive in a so called civilized world. In a Democratic and Secular society, there is no place for elected dictators like Bush, Chaney and the Neocon supporter like you. You should migrate to North Korea or to Israel where you can campaign what you and your Nazi forefathers who live in Israel and US learned from Hitler. BTW America and Israel are the main terror exporters in the world. Israel is an occupier and an illegal entity which is the world's leading terrorist is supported and helped by the United States. Countries in the Middle East or the people have every right to support peoples or movements against oppression and occupation in any part of the world irrespective of color and creed. -

What kind of hypocrisy is this? the Americans don't even like wiretapping or limitation on their free speech but they voted blood thirsty Bush twice to invade and occupy countries like Iraq and Afghanistan. Perhaps now they feel ashamed to face the world what their dear leader done to their reputation of their dear country, so they voted Obama overwhelmingly as face serving strategy. In a democracy not only the leader but also the people who are responsible in anything the elected leaders do. I don't believe they can just blame Bush and Chaney for the crimes they committed. If they are responsible people I suggest that they put all these high class criminals on trial and lock them up for life.
