The closer we get to all out war the more I'm reminded of the hell daily.

War is just a temporary solution to an on going problem. Mans inability to live in peace with his neighbors.
As more die more want to kill. It is an endless cycle of hatred and escalating insanity. -

the video is worth watching. the song, unfortunately, is just as true today as when it came out.

bush's two wars of choice have set humanity back decades, maybe longer. and yes, congress shares the blame with special attention to pelosi and reid for all those who died in the last two years.
for the future, we're moving to robots and video-game-like activity, with remote control planes directed from screens thousands of miles away.
these are truly dark times. -

The video may seem harsh to some. But for those of us who were there these were just minutes in the days we were there.

There is no real way to convey the real hell. Because part of it is physical, part of it mental and part of it spiritual.
We are robbed of the innocense of not knowing the true capacity for mans complete disregard for his fellow man.
That is something we can never regain, nor can it be hidden within our own selves. We know what we are capable of if driven to survive.
It is not pretty.-

Thanks CB....The song was an anthem for peace lovers like myself.....I listened to it on a regular basis. I imagine it means a lot more to you and those that had to face the horrors of war. the scene of the little girl running down the road is so strong and shoes how horrible it was and is.

Thanks, I only wish I could have shown the dead children with their mothers and fathers wailing in despair and hurt. The bodies so fragile and limp in their parents arms.
Or the babies crying next to their parents who were killed. It makes one crazy with hatred of the insanity of depersonalised warfare.
The soldiers weren't to blame. We were put in a no win situation of kill or be killed.
The countries leaders were barbarians who valued human life little and riches much.
Communism / Capitalism ????? Didn't matter to the victim they were still dead.
Political values valued over the well being of mankind.
Yes we have to stop evil from spreading. But not by spreading it our selves.

Doesn't it? It's just that we were young then - worried about our own skins -

most of us have children now - the idea of leaving this horror to them is a
whole new kind of fear...................and guilt.
Why does everyone always feel the last war will actually BE the last war?
Seems the same bad characters show up for each generation to whip up
the fear - trash diplomacy and ramp-up the defense sales
H*lls Bells! Look how many are missing the guys who just left office!
It's a sobering piece, cowboygrandpa - but why do we never learn?

Thanks for submitting this CBG. Rushing into war is never a good idea. This song, everytime I hear it, always makes me sing along with feeling. Every time a president / anyone starts talking about why war is a good idea this song is always in my head in the background. I hope it's not too late to (I don't have the right word here.) "finish" what we should've finished in Afghanistan before going to Iraq.

I can't speak for others, but I'm all ears fiftynine and CBG. I know when people start talking about what their gut instincts are saying I stop and listen and pay attention. So, what now/next?
