honest elections are a rare event in the history of the world.

there is a strong case to be made for arguing that our presidential elections in both 2000 and 2004 were rife with fraud.
in mexico, in the 2006 presidential election, fraud prevailed.

no one has claimed that any recent election in venezuela was fraudulent. the author of this piece is saying he doesn't like chavez. fine. but to then say he is a dictator is a ridiculous jump in logic.
you either accept the right of people to vote for whomever they wish, or you tell them they're too stupid and you know better.
similarly, the u.s. was all for the election in gaza, until hamas won. then we were against it.
