Palin: Obama Should Have Vetoed the Stimulus Bill »
Posted By capj71 10 months ago in Political NewsSarah Palin was on Fox News ’s On The Record With Greta Van Susteren, where she voiced her opposition to the Obama stimulus bill because Congress didn’t know what was in it, and it would add people to the rolls. The problem is that no one, including Gov. Palin seems to know what she is talking about.

How can Palin oppose the stimulus bill, but then agree to accept stimulus funds on behalf of Alaska?

"The 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, planned to meet in Washington this weekend with Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and other senators to press for her state's share of the package."-

Probably the same way all those Democrats opposed Bush's $600 stimulus check, but accepted the cash.
This might surprise you, government handouts are rarely rejected. That's the problem.
And lastly, try to understand this: We all are going to be taxed for this terrible, bloated, pork-infested bill. If your state has to pay for it, might as well get something out of it in return.
Do you think that's fair or did you just want someone else to pay for your benefits? -

Here is another angle that may shed light on the light-heartedness of your question.
Why would you expect any Governor to reject the stimulus state aid formula when their people are contributing to it in tax dollars?
My answer: I wouldn't expect any state to reject money, even if they opposed the bill, because regardless, they will be paying into it. -

I had to re-read her statement to get a better understanding of it, but I have to say she's not great at expressing herself, at least not in front of the camera.

Maybe she should write her thoughts down, then read them to the media.

In previous statements, you have stated that you do not believe Governor Palin should accept state money from the Stimulus Bill.
Would you list each state (and Governor), line by detailed line, that you believe should also be excluded from the stimulus bill package? Please do not generalize. -

In a previous argument, you listed these numbers to contrast the Clinton era vs. the W. Bush era.
Furthermore, you conveniently fail to address:
1) the following figures
http://www.treasurydirect.gov/NP/BPDLogin?applicat...
Clinton Enters Office: $4,188,092,107,183.60
Clinton Leaves Office: $5,727,776,738,304.64
Change Under Clinton: $1.5 trillion
Bush Enters Office: $5,727,776,738,304.64
Republicans Lose Congress: $8,675,085,083,537.48
Change Under Bush: $3 trillion
Would you please break these numbers down as follows:
Clinton with Democratic Congress
Clinton with Republican Congress
W. Bush with Republican Congress
W. Bush with Democratic Congress -

Actually, it's the stimulus bill that advocates money being sent to her. Does that make our federal government a P*mp by your standards?

I find it sad that you call members of government names like this, Will. I don't like a lot of people in our government, but I like to stay away from name-calling like this.

That is not the argument. You predictably misconstrue. The argument is whether Palin's words are consistent with her actions. Are her words just emtpy politicking? If not, then why doesn't she have the courage to act on her convictions?

Would it be fair to suggest that people who opposed this stimulus bill, and were unable to install an alternative plan, be able to take advantage of the only plan available?
Please answer the question. I know you and I are currently debating which economists support the stimulus -I'll continue that debate if you wish- but, I would still like to address your original comments over Palin. -

I hate to think of having McCain and Palin to handle this Recession. The GOP Party is nothing but a joke that's in an array. Their NRA grass roots are DEAD. Now they elects a MINORITY as Head of the GOP Party to try and get another grass root base. Maybe the KKK should name a Minority as it's GRAND DRAGON to save that dying sect. It seems Minorities are saving every thing these days. Look at all the Blood Sucking CEOs that got Wall Street in the shapes it's in, whom do you see? Case close.

I agree with most of your statement, but I would like to add that the Democrat Party did the same thing...

Maybe now you understand that minorities are being used simply for political purposes by both sides.
And the fact that liberals seem unable to really discuss the stimulus, but instead focus on McCain and Palin, shows how shallow they are with information.

What a hoot Sarah Paltry is. Today's paper revealed that she also failed to pay taxes on state per diem allowance she took inappropriately.

Since Republicans clamored so loudly for Daschle and Geithner to be withdrawn from consideration for government posts for tax problems, will they now clamor for Sarah Paltry to resign from the governorship??? After all, Republicans like to portray themselves as the party of prinicple, the party of responsibility, the party of patriotism, the party of fiscal conservatism, the party that returns tax money to the people. Shouldn't Sarah be drummed out of the party and the government for TAKING money from the people? -

Just another Monday morning quarterback. We all know she would veto it, what's she think this is news to us all? She a friggin' Republican, she'll do exactly what the party line dictates. They could tell her to dance and make raccoon noises while she eats her own baby and she'd do it. air mattress
