    She's probably not a first-offender.

She was warned but couldn't stop? And you can be sure what she was texting was incredibly important.

As annoying as texting and IM'ing can be in a workplace or classroom the real story is going to be the effects on the users. I can see carpal tunnel surgery (which is very painful and debilatating) becoming quite routine at a much earlier age than before.

Maybe I am just getting old but texting in particular seems to be the sign of a tipping point for mankind. Although technology is advancing we are regressing in the ways we use it.

First we have Lavern & Shirley, then Jeffrey Dahmer. Now we have a mayor busted for child porn, a high school youth blackmailing male students for sex and trailer trash ***** sending photos of her privates.... If you're living in Minnesota can you look across the Mississippi and let us know how far we've sunk this time. Can we get back to some values teaching yet?

This is a nationwide problem. Teens no longer see the problems with underage nudity or for that mater underage pregnancy. Sex isn't a big deal either. Between parents, schools and entertainment, it's assumed that nothing is restricted. The everything is okay society started in the 60's and continues now. We've not only crossed a line or two, we've built a super highway. It's time for parents to stop being buddies and pals of their children and be parents. As for this girl, I think she needs help. To keep her boy friend she needs to send ********tures of herself? There's problems there. Prison isn't the answer. After that pulling the cameras from cell phones of children should happen next. But again, this would mean parents would be the grown ups. I can't see that happening.
