You are what you eat »
Posted By real_fitness 10 months, 1 week ago in Health & FitnessWe have all heard the statement “you are what you eat”. I think that very few of us actually give any thought to how true that statement really is. If people really understood that this is literally the most important concept in all of fitness, weight loss, and any exercise program. The human skeleton is replaced with a completely new one every three to five months. Your liver every six week. In the next five days you will have a completely new stomach lining. Within the next year you will be an entirely new you, so to speak.Where does your body get the materials to replace all of your organs. Food of course! The ongoing cellular renewal that takes place in your body every day is fueled by the food and nutrients that you put in it. If you are eating crappy food what do you think is the effect that this has on your body. Now that you see it from this perspective maybe you will think twice about what you put in your body next time you eat. When this concept is fully understood and excepted it is then that the importance of nutrition takes the front seat in any fitness program. There will be no more working out at the gym for two hours then getting pizza and wondering why your not making any muscle gains. There will be no more crash diets where you basically starve yourself with low calorie diets and wonder why you gain all the weight back and often more when you start eating normal again. There will be no more wasted money on useless pills and supplement that make outrageous claims and produce minimal results. Once the importance of nutrition is fully grasped and implemented that is when you start making progress towards your fitness goals and move one step closer to having the body you have always dreamt of.This is exactly why the main focus for now is going to be nutrition. Although it is not the most fascinating subject and there is some chemistry involved (relax nothing more that what you learned in high school.) when you have a good grasp of the chemical processes involved with nutrition and your body you will be in a much better position to make good decisions when it comes to the food that you choose to put in your body. How much you learn about nutrition will be directly reflected in how serious you are about your fitness goals and the progress that you make.
