Sports should be above politics. The US made the same mistake by boycotting the Olympics in 1980 which was followed in 1984 by 30 countries boycotting the olympics in Los Angeles. Nothing was accomplished.
Shahar Peer from Israel should not be held accountable for the attrocities committed by Israel in Gaza and Labanon. Even if an embargo against Israel is put in place by the rest of the world it should have no effect on sports. Sports is one way for people to communicate and perhaps be made aware of whats happening in the world.
