Huffington Post, TVNewser Illustrate Biased Bankruptcy of Current American Journalism »
Posted By GlennFrancoSimmons 9 months, 2 weeks ago in NewsThe Huffington Post has once again revealed its less-than-admirable journalistic "credentials" by engaging in a smear campaign against what it considers a conservative radio talk-show host (soon to be an endangered species) named John Gibson.
An ethical news organization would fire at least the editor in charge for this gross negligence of duty that could have easily been verified to have been a fraud.
At TVNewser, this immoral outrage occurred under the watch of Editor Chris Ariens and Associate Editor Steve Krakauer.
At Huff and Puff, I'm not sure who should take the blame more than Editor-in-Chief Arianna Huffington, but do you think she would fire herself for her publication's unethical behavior?
Because these two "news" organizations did not perform as journalists should, they unleashed a frenzied replication of a lie that was intended to slime Gibson's reputation.
Although many of the blogs and Web sites that repeated this lie are not held to a journalistic code of ethics, there is a developing Blogger Code of Ethics, which, if followed by them, would make this type of character assasination more difficult.
What makes Huff and Puff and TVAbuser's ethical lapse even worse is that their hemlock-drinking co-conspirators in the blogging and Web site community lost no time in perpetuating this lie about Gibson.
What followed were countless comments calling for Gibson to be fired for "what he said."
Yet, he never said it and the "joke," if it can be called that, is on the so-called and self-described "leftist" and "progressive" community that seeks to destroy individuals with whom they disagree.
The fact that they do this by any hateful, untruthful means necessary is scary and proves that the progressive movement's legacy of so-called tolerance has, in fact, become a legacy of intolerance.
