The Myth(s) of Conservative "Fiscal Responsibility" »

Posted By Aidenag 10 months, 1 week ago in Political News

The very same folks who just dragged us along on an eight-year drunken binge during which they borrowed-and-spent us into the deepest financial catastrophe in nearly a century are now standing there, faces full of moral rectitude, fingers pointing and shaking in our faces, righteously lecturing the rest of us on the topic of "fiscal responsibility"

Damned Republicans. They are so sanctimonious and are totally responsible for the attitude that the rich should be richer regardless of the means. Republicans justified and enabled the crooks and thieves that took us down the river. NOW the Repubs are all out of shape not because there's anything wrong with what Obama is doing, but rather what it will do to reign in the filthy rich that support their campaigns.

It is time for every true American to vote out EVERY DAMNED REPUBLICAN at EVERY opportunity!

republicans always accuse the left of "tax and spend" behavior.

true or not, at least the left (in the right's mind) actually brings in some revenue by rasing taxes.

but the republicans are just spend spend spend. they want to spend as much as they possibly can, basically just grab money from the till - without caring about a deficit, without creating any incoming revenue, nothing.

trickle down economics is a total joke. never worked. never will.

and imagine where we'd be if Bush had gotten his way and social security had been privatized. a lot of that money would have been lost in the financial failures that Bush left us with, and things would be much worse than they already are.

starting from Reagan, the idea of "conservative fiscal responsibility" hasn't just been a myth, it's been an outright lie, nothing more than a false marketing point to be used by the right during years of election.

The major problem is not the fault of either political party, rather it is because career politicians who are beholden not to the voters but to their financial supporters. After they get dug in and established they are virtually set for life.
Quit voting for incumbents, get new faces in congress each election cycle.
