I hope shareholders can have some say over how businesses are run, but I'm not holding my breath.

Anyone who's ever read a proxy statement knows they're written by the board of directors and heavily slanted in favor of the board's agenda. And it's extremely hard for the opposition to get a list of shareholders and very expensive for it to cover mailing and printing costs to get their views out.-

Do you have any concept of how a company works? Of course the stock holder has a huge amount of power. Most however, never contest anything as long as there is profit or dividends. Ford, GM and Chrysler owners were lazy and didn't care until they were in trouble. The sign the proxy and fail to understand their responsibilities as an owner.
