Record 205 nominations for Nobel Peace Prize »

President Obama and his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy are believed to be among a record 205 nominations for the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize.

The secretive five-member awards committee, which released its final nominations count on Friday, keeps the names of candidates secret for 50 years. But some of the thousands of people with nominating rights do announce their nominees.

    I say it's time to nominate Chingis Khan. Everyone pronounces his name "Ghengis" now but historians believe that "Chingis" was closer to the real phonetics that were used to utter his name.

    I mean if you can give the peace prize to Carter, Arafat, and Gore then "why not Chingis???".

    The whole thing is a joke anyways.

      Oh, just a second. Maybe Robert Mugabe might be a better candidate. He's done such a great job in Zimbabwe and all the environmentalists really like him.
