    "Nicholas Kristof"

    He's very liberal. But very devoted to good works. Our family and his are close friends. His mom's a professor of Art History in Portland, OR. Nicholas is rather well known for his series of articles concerning human trafficking across borders with a particular emphasis on the abuses that stem from that.

      Yes, he's been doing those articles for a while now. His experiences would make an interesting (and depressing) topic for dinner conversations. Have you met him?

        Yes.

        But I disagree that depressing topics make for depressing conversation. When we've talked about these things we generally conclude (or at least from when I've talked with him) on a good basis of understanding that is hopeful.
