Of course they can. Many non-extremist Arabs and non-extremist Jews get along on a daily basis around the world, even within Israel and the Gaza. It's usualy when extremists such as Hamas or the ultra Orthodox Israelis get involved (rather than everyday people) that you get the conflict.

I have to agree with everyone who says this is a good story and must commend both of these ladies for choosing to work and sing together, I imagine there are some Jewish people who aren't thrilled about this just as they said that there were Palestinians who were upset, but these two are not looking to the past but the future for peace. The idea of living in peace with ones neighbors is something that people have to chose to do and it has to be done by both sides.

I wish them well in the contest for if they were to win wouldn't it be a lesson for us all. -

Taken to a higher level of abstraction, the headline could read "Israel makes a propaganda move to offset racist reputation"

C'mon, so an Arab and an Israeli Ashkenazim do a music duet. And what, they sing an updated version of "ebony and ivory" and its all good? Holy ****, how easy ARE you all?-

Of course it's not good. How can it, possibly, be good if such event did not and can not happen in any of the 22 Arab countries?
After all, it's Israel with all its "racist reputation" is the ONLY country in the Middle East where ALL citizens, Jews and Arabs alike, have the very same equal rights guaranteed by the state laws. -

Unfortunately this duo reflects the sad reality of Hamas and the Islamists extremist. They urged the Arabic singer not to sing because it represents the feeling of many in that region of wanting to unite and have peace, which is not their goal regardless of what their propagandist machine will spit out to you. If you read what the Hamas actually says when they don't think the world is listening, you realize that peace is not the objective. The real objective is taking all of the land that represents Israel, and having no non-muslim presence at all in the middle east, which is why Iran is so quick and eager to help with this objective. How can you have peace talks with people who admimt they don't want peace?????? When they think the world is listening, they are masters at manipulation of the facts and creating twisted propagandists slogans, like the Israeli's are using natzi-like tactics. People who don't like Obama compare him to hitler when someone comments on the fact that he's an excellent orator. Both comparisons are used to implant ideas that hold absolutely ludicrous analogies, with the hopes of influencing public opinion. In fact, to compare Obama or Israel to hitler and the nazis are total and completely twisted propagandists scheme. I only hope the average person is smart enough to see through it?????
