Michael Steele Calls Rush Limbaugh an Entertainer »
Posted By capj71 10 months ago in Political NewsThis little nugget may have passed some people by, but after Rush Limbaugh’s speech at CPAC, Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele went on D.L. Hughley’s CNN show and called Rush an entertainer. Steele was already trying to do damage control.

I watched a large part of this speech the other day.

To me, it is entirely appropriate that Rush Limbaugh is the Leader of The Modern Republican party.
He is a veritable pean to Hypocrisy and Moral Vacancy.
And when one dispassionately examines the agenda pursued by The Modern Republican party for the past 30 years ... Hypocrisy and Moral Vacancy is EXACTLY what The Modern Republican Party represents.
.
As one who frequently voted Republican in my youth ... I find this to be profoundly sad.

I think you missed the point of calling him an entertainer. Steele's purpose in doing so was to tell people that Rush wasn't the voice of the Republican party. He's trying to distance the GOP from Rush by saying he is nothing more than an entertainer.

I think it is comical that the left has elevated Rush to such a high level of influence. Not nearly as dangerous as Pelosi or Reed or even Schumer or Hillary or Frank, an entertainer who apparently can hold an audience of listeners 3 hours a day for 20 years.

He has NO power but he speaks to the concerns of MILLIONS of Americans who remember what made this country great. Even bed-wetting, thumb-sucking liberals who haven't listened for 10 minutes seem to fear his FREE speech.
Keep bashing him on every newscast, MSNBC, the View, the morning shows and continue to build his reputation and stature. You're putting money in his pockets and that is capitalism at its best. -

I guess all those drugs finally took over this idiots calcified brain...what's left of it. Let's not consider the huge job ahead of us and work to be done. Let's support and listen to ridiculous egomaniacs like Limbaugh !! This government has been operating the way it does for over 200 yrs. Now that he's out of rehab, apparently his mission is to take the rest of us to hell along with him.

Limbaugh has the gift of gab. He is excellent at spewing words that emotionally arouse his audience. That is entertainment. It is sad however that the republican party is so desparate they want and need an editorial grandstander to represent their party. Reorganizing the republican party around emotional appeals instead of fact will destroy the party in the end. Intelligent thought always wins over emotional blubbering.

You have to wonder about both political parties
Reply
The Republican message was smaller govt and less spending. All was cast to the wayside by Bush and the Republicans in Congress
As a result funding raising by the RNC fell as people who support smaller govt and less spending refused to contribute to the RNC
Now Steele looks like he is following the same path
What is the message of the Republican party?
When there is no message coming out of the Republican party, others will step in to fill the void
Lashing out at Limbaugh is ridiculous and will get the RNC more of the same - difficulty fund raising
Look at the Democrats. Love or hate Howard Dean, what did he accomplish - increased fund raising and more Democrats elected to Congress. Success by anyone's standards
But now what - Dean is cast aside because he is not close to Obama and it seems that Dean and Emanuel don't like each other
Both parties are self-destructive due to the egos involved
You just have to shake your head in wonder as they continue along not realizing they are on their way into oblivion - an oblivion each deserves in my opinion -
