What this is, though, is cruel. It is cruel because it is a game of manipulation emanating from the Oval Office...
Isn't that what Bush did? Cruelly manipulated the country into thinking that Saddam had WMD, to justify his illegal war.. Rush you need to stop!
Also FTA:
Limbaugh chose to attack Steele, “Why do you claim to lead the Republican Party when you seem obsessed with seeing to it President Obama succeeds? I frankly am stunned that the chairman of the Republican National Committee endorses such an agenda. I have to conclude that he does because he attacks me for wanting it to fail."
Why is Rush so obsessed with seeing America fail? This man is sick, he's done way too many drugs.-

The Republicans are so funny...back and forth, back and forth with the petty comments.
Reply
"I'm the voice of the party!" "No, I am!"
LOL...the bickering among them is hilarious...and they really think they're going to pull it together for 2012?
No way!...they'll be lucky if they can ever get it together again...a regional party, at best... -

Rush did not say he wants the nation to fail, he siad he wants the policies of bigger government, excess spending that cannot be paid for, and min. of our rights to fail.
Reply
Fact is many dems here follow Obama as the repubs. have followed Bush. None of you that support this spending pork package can tell me you care about OUR country. Like I have said this is both sides that have packed this with their pork projects.
Dems should be very critical of Obama, even more so then Bush because you elected him. I would hope that you would wish that he keep his promisses. What I see though is the oppisite and a bunch of followers that would defend him to death no matter what he did.
The facts are 9000 PORK projects, Lobbyist in his government, and the largest deficit in the history of mankind, let hope this is not a trend of things to come from his time as care taker of OUR nation.-

So how exactly can our country succeed if our President fails? This is a time when we need to come together as a nation and work to make things better. President Obama has reached out the the Republican party and continues to do so. They choose to stonewall him.

Let me also note the facts that of these prok project 40 percent come from the republicans. So Rush has evry right to attack the head of the party. EVERY republican should just as EVERY DEM should be attacking their elected officials for handing us such a debt that cannot be paid for.

The facts are not hard to see, taxing those who run the companies more and then expecting them to pull us out.WILL NEVER WORK. Fact Reagans recession was worse but is not mentioned then he turned it around with tax cuts. AMERICA was warned about this tax,tax ,tax plan of OBAMA and now they are seeing it put into practice. The markets are falling, you are losing your jobs, who ever has money it will be taxed more than ever and the interest on the BORROWED and let me repeat BORROWED money for OUR debt, then the repayment is based on money not yet earned will be billion per day. WAKE UP AMERICA YOU ARE BEING ROBBED!!!!!!!!!!-

For the economy to succeed, you need a strong middle class. That is who spends the most money and drives the economy. Giving more tax breaks to the rich doesn't work, we've seen that for the last eight years, what's going to suddenly make it work now.

Earmarks are the grease that lubricate the wheels of Congress. This system needs changing but, with the current economic crisis, there is no time to fix it now. This will have to wait until next year. Obama is taking some heat for it right now but I'm hopeful that he will address it next year.

For years now propellers left have not only wished our then president to fail, but wished death on him, his staff and his VP.
Rush Limbaugh apparently believes that the nation would be better off if President Obama's socialist agenda was a failure. He believes that the only way to get out of this mess is to allow the free market to correct itself. This cannot happen when the government interferes with the market so the sooner Obama's policies fail the sooner the market can correct and we can get things rolling again.
Without saying whether I agree or disagree with Rush let me say that the whole world is in just as much or more financial trouble then we are in. The nations that are far more socialist than we currently are are the ones who are in the most trouble. Their programs have failed them.
We should not be even considering the thought of becoming more socialist in a time when socialist nations are worse off than we are.

I have only listened to Rush a few times and the last time was back in Sept. and there were things that he talked about that I did have to agree with, most of it had to do with fiscal responsibility but the one thing that made me turn him off was his constant attack on the idea of who was a patriotic American and his view that those who disagreed with him were not really concerned with the country.
Reply
Rush has never been a debater because he is so hung up on his opinions but when it comes to these stimulus plans I would have to agree with him if he says there is to much pork in the bills.
This comment might be a little of topic but Lou Dobbs stated basically the same idea last night, to much pork.-

That whole stimulus package was pork. It was all of the things that democrats had been kept from having after they lost congress in the second year of Clinton. The talked about how it was an emergency stimulus package but is was not a stimulus package. The parts of the economy that are in trouble was totally ignored.

Rush is Joe McCarthy for the 21st century, ruling through propaganda, intimidation and fear--and he's not even a politician.
Reply
Michael Steele needs to simply slap him down...and hard. If the Republicans want even a semblance of credibility in their pathetic effort to appear inclusive, they won't punish Steele. He holds the cards here and needs to realize it.
I'm still convinced there are Republicans who don't buy any of Rush's blather--if their party wants to stop losing elections, they'll need to speak up and reassert their strength.
Rush is a blowhard who may control the most die-hard Republicans, but leaders of the party certainly must realize that that base is driving others away. And the base is not going to switch parties, so they have nothing to lose. -

The left seems to have a fixation on Rush. If he is what you say then why is he so popular. You people ignore what his basic message is and rant about details taken out of context of what he says. None of you listen to him to see if what is being pushed by liberals is really true.
Reply
Why does the White House talk about Rush?
First it is a lost cause for them to talk about a radio or talk show host. The White house can't devote all the time the media personality can to rebuttal and they only give that person free publicity.
Second if they are talking about him they are taking the minds of people off of other issues. Like the huge deficit, pork, tax increases on everyone, the lack of transparency, tax problems of appointees, etc. So liberals on this thread can rant about Rush and ignore what Obama is doing.-

Why is he popular, because hate and fear sell. His basic message is "they are evil" "they are wrong" "they will ruin the country."
Reply
He uses individual issues to support that message, but the message is never about the issue. His basic message is not "Pork is bad" or he would have ranted about it more when Republicans were doing it. It's just a tool that he's using to make people think "Democrats/Liberals" are bad. -

Hey Dems and Reps, wake up. The issue is not Rush, nor is it Bill Mahr or Rosie or anything that any celebrity has to say. They are not high government officials or elected representatives. They can say what ever they want. Who cares? The issue is: what is Emmanual, Geithner , and Obama doing and saying. Focus on that. And in case you haven't noticed, things aren't going so well. Bush is gone, McCain is in the Senate, so focus on what Obama is doing now.

the dow and the economy keep dropping 'cause no one in the financial markets can trust each other and that's thanks to 30 years of financial market deregulation and the resulting (and predictable) corruption and greed.

the implosion of the republican party is manifestly obvious when the only voice filling the vacuum is rush limbaugh's.

if they don't pull their heads out of rush's ample azz, they are in for a rough couple of decades ahead.
