    The Defense of Marriage Act is squarely in the bullseye of this legal battle in federal court. Is it legal to have a law that prohibits the recognition of same sex marriage without being discriminatory to two states. Both Massachusetts and Connecticut gay and lesbian citizens can marry and not have the federal protections that are granted to straight couples immediately upon their wedding. Such actions at the federal level reek of discrimination. It is anyone's guess as to whether the DOMA will be overturned.
