      The Kepler mission has been a long time coming. First touted three decades ago, the project didn't get approved until 1999 — just after the first transiting planet, HD 209458b, was detected from the ground.

        Personally I'd be looking for one a bit different. This one leaves a lot to be desired at the moment

          I have been waiting for the Keppler telescope to get going,
          for a long time.
          I love the list of exo-planets we have found so far;
          but they are mostly gas giants.

          I want to hear about Earth-type planets.
