Pennsylvania is making progress. The fact that our legislature wants to provide some protections for gays and lesbians is a sign that the Commonwealth is becoming more liberal. I make no mistake about it...many in PA will not like the idea of protecting gays and lesbians. I suggest they need to consider that at any time, gay and lesbian employees can be fired, kicked out of their housing, and denied hotel rooms if the management so chooses. Yes, this bill is definitely progress.

Hold on, if you're going to use "freedom" rights, you may violate the religious freedoms of those not wanting to rent, lease or work with them. Many Catholics, Lutherans and Baptists oppose the gay lifestyle. If you force them to work with them, you're violating their rights too. Where do you draw the line? In any healthy society, the gay population is under 5%, it's usually around 3%. So for the other 97% we have to make exceptions or create a special class for them? Will they then be given a special status when it comes to government bidding? Woman owned, an extra point. Minority owned, extra point. Veteran, extra point. Gay or lesbian, extra point? This is a foolish waste of time and energy. It only adds to the coffers of wealthy trial attorneys.

Nobody would force them to stay in a job they now find uncomfortable. Hey, it's your right to quit a job if you don't like working with gay folk. It is NOT your right to prevent gay folk from being hired by your employer.
