Sarah Palin as a Republican Sex Object »
Posted By capj71 8 months, 1 week ago in Political NewsA new research study found that Sarah Palin’s looks hurt her with voters. Those who commented on her appearance judged her less competent. Republicans themselves went out of their way to turn her into a conservative sex object, and then wondered why she was not taken seriously during the campaign.

They said the opposite thing about JFK in 1960...that he would get more votes from women because he was handsome. Was it true, I don't know...

I would never vote for a woman because of her looks...she either has a similar set of ideals and aspirations for this country as I do, or she doesn't. If she does, she gets my vote; if not, I vote for someone else, plain and simple.
Looks don't come into it at all...

That's right only an old hag can be take seriously. Pretty sexist to say looks are a draw back with a woman politician isn't it? After all, even men get thrills up their legs with the good looking man we have as president. Nahhhh good looks don't help politicians of any sex do they?

Slate you are delusional.

Did you watch the campaign? Did you see her answers on Foreign Policy, the VP Job Description, or the Katie Couric interview?
Palin was disqualified by "her answers" and "inability to demonstrate intelligence on important issues." She became comical.
(Her winking 7 times during the debate made her look intellectually small and contrived)
Tina Fey didn't even need material; she just repeated her answers. -

I think part of the point is that the way the public looks at attractive men and attractive women is different--men who are attractive are seen as strong, confident and intelligent; attractive women are seen as bimbos who are good for one thing only, and it's not politics.

I'm not saying that's the way people should see beauty; I'm just saying that I'd bet if I had the energy this early to find studies on the subject, they'd bear me out.

Once again, this is proof that liberals are searching for people to villify. It's a constant shift from Rush, to Palin, to McCain, to any GOP member so that they can distract the country from the mass socialism and removal of wealth in the Obama Administration.

You are 100% correct, all this is a simply distraction from Obama's plans of socialism . BUT, we ain't seen NOTHING yet. I'm mean come on, Obama is concerning himself with Rush, while our country is Melting down. Seems to me, Rush should be about the last concern Obama should have right now, but he's making Rush out to be a major concern, GET REAL!
I've spent alot of time trying to figure out what the hell this new administration is up to. Something about all that's going on, just isn't adding up, there's something very fishy about it all. I think I got it....It goes like this. Obama's plan is to totally destroy our economy, to the point that we are completely distracted from what Obama and gang are up to. Once we're all busy scrambling, trying to provide for ourselves and families, then Obama and gang will put their socialism plans into full force, passing all kinds of socialistic laws and bills. (While we are pre-occupied) Right now, Obama is just getting warmed up! After the dust clears, POOF, America will never be the same. I could be wrong, but I think not!
Obama PROMISED CHANGE. How many of you bone heads that voter for Obama had any idea his plans were to turn us into Cuba? If you knew what Obama's TRUE plans were, would have you still voted for him? Have you learned a GREAT lesson here, that you should never vote for someone who refuses to say what their agenda, plans and policies are! How many of you are sorry now you voted Obama?
Obama is a WOLF IN SHEEP'S clothing!!!!! -

Yes just like the neocons have done for the last eight years. I will add that it is no more attractive when Liberals do it. The question is will it again take 8 years for the people to backlash against the liberal hate spew? Has the tolerance of the people for this BS been used up?Will the backlash come in 2012 or will it cost the democrats to lose massively in 2016. Will we have to listen to such patently stupid lies like "Sarah Palin said she can see Alaska from her window" for the next 8 years just as we had to listen to the "Al Gore said he invented the internet" lie for 8 years. God Help us if this is the best we have to offer. If this country crumbles it will be because of the hate spewing, lying, spinning imbeciles on both sides. -

Hhussk, if this Palin article is all just a 'distraction', why are you participating in it?

Truth be told, Americans are quite clever and can keep more than one thing on their mind at a time. Also, on occasion, it's a nice to have a break.
