Brrrr... Another Rare Occurence-- Great Lakes Freeze Up Again

    http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2009/03/brrrr-gr...

The freezing of the Great Lakes happens about once a decade. The last time was in 2003 and before that 1994, according to Ice Service records, and it was 1982 before that.

It looks like we are starting to see a pattern here:
Arctic sea ice growth finished the year in 2008 at the same level as 1979.
The oceans have been cooling since 2003.
Sea ice is growing at the fastest pace on record.
    Greenland's glaciers are stabilizing.
There are growing fears of a coming freeze worse than the ice age.
Alaskan Sea Glaciers are advancing for the first time in 250 years.
And, for the second straight year the Earth is, in fact, cooling... not warming.

Media Myth: Networks Stick to Warming Theme Despite Avalanche of Chilling News

Temperatures have plummeted to record or near-record lows in 32 states this winter. On March 2, a global warming protest in Washington, D.C. was buried by nearly a foot of snow. And a new study warns that the Earth could be in for a 30-year cooling trend. Reality is not cooperating with the network news’ global warming theme, yet reporters are unwilling to even discuss the possibility that the Earth is cooling.

We should have listened to the Russian scientists

A cold spell soon to replace global warming

MOSCOW. (Oleg Sorokhtin for RIA Novosti) – Stock up on fur coats and felt boots! This is my paradoxical advice to the warm world.

Earth is now at the peak of one of its passing warm spells. It started in the 17th century when there was no industrial influence on the climate to speak of and no such thing as the hothouse effect. The current warming is evidently a natural process and utterly independent of hothouse gases.

Astrophysics knows two solar activity cycles, of 11 and 200 years. Both are caused by changes in the radius and area of the irradiating solar surface. The latest data, obtained by Habibullah Abdusamatov, head of the Pulkovo Observatory space research laboratory, say that Earth has passed the peak of its warmer period, and a fairly cold spell will set in quite soon, by 2012. Real cold will come when solar activity reaches its minimum, by 2041, and will last for 50-60 years or even longer.

Carbon dioxide is not to blame for global climate change. Solar activity is many times more powerful than the energy produced by the whole of humankind. Man’s influence on nature is a drop in the ocean.

Dr. Oleg Sorokhtin, Merited Scientist of Russia and fellow of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, is staff researcher of the Oceanology Institute.

Ahhhh oil is expensive and solar and wind, the most expensive by far sources of energy today are free forever?

Hmmm let’s see T Boone stands to make billions off this “free forever” energy sources.

Big Al has already made millions off people buying carbon credits. You know the credits that allow the individuals to keep spewing those pollutants into the air, as long as they pay big Al their ‘protection’ money.

In the one way flight both of these men took in their private hydrocarbon monsters, they spewed out more man made pollutants than most people do in a year driving their vehicles.

Mr. Pickens and Mr. Gore, will you make a commitment to only use public transportation and only fly commercially? Will you make the commitment to ensure that all these ‘free’ sources of energy will be given to the world for ‘free forever fuel sources’ as you just stated in your video? Big Al, will you commit to refrain from selling the right of others to pollute by purchasing carbon credits by the company you own for the good of the world?

Will you both also commit to ensuring that the ‘new energies’ don’t become behemoth profit based corporations the likes of those that you vilify the most, the oil companies?

          Will you?

BTW, we know the answers to the questions I posed if you didn’t get that the questions were rhetorical.

Funny that the article points to links for one of its points at the top of the page but then another link debunks an earlier point it was trying to make. (classic)

"""Willis said the findings have significant implications for global sea-level rise. "Average sea level goes up partly due to warming and thermal expansion of the oceans and partly due to runoff from melting glaciers and ice sheets," Willis said. "The recent cooling episode suggests sea level should have actually decreased in the past two years. Despite this, sea level has continued to rise. This may mean that sea level rise has recently shifted from being mostly caused by warming to being dominated by melting. This idea is consistent with recent estimates of ice-mass loss in Antarctica and accelerating ice-mass loss on Greenland," he said. """

If the guy wanted to debate someone why doesn't he try debating another scientist? (he'd get his hat handed to him)

Right or wrong, he's not much a scientist if he couldn't trip up a non-scientist so it would be completely pointless.

Here's a few examples ... just in my lifetime.

                Wrong about Vietnam.

                Wrong about Denying Civil Rights.

                Wrong about Denying Women's Rights.

                Wrong about Environmentalism.

Wrong about supporting Bush over McCain in 2000.

Wrong about looking to Rush Limbaugh as your Messiah.

Wrong about Equal Pay for Equal Work.

                Wrong about Iraq.

                Wrong about supporting Saddam Hussein.

                Wrong about supporting Musharif.

                Wrong about supporting Pinochet.

                Wrong about Creationism.

                Wrong about the Economy.

Wrong about calling your legislators Fiscal Conservatives (when they spend more than 'tax n spend' liberals)

                Wrong about Science.

                Wrong about Global Warming.

This is a partial list, my friends.

So my question is this .... Don't y'all ever get tired of being on the WRONG side of every single issue?

Look at this list .... only a movement constructed on a moral foundation of shifting sand could be wrong so consistently.

We do not know where George Will is getting his information, but our data shows that on February 15, 1979, global sea ice area was 16.79 million sq. km and on February 15, 2009, global sea ice area was 15.45 million sq. km. Therefore, global sea ice levels are 1.34 million sq. km less in February 2009 than in February 1979. This decrease in sea ice area is roughly equal to the area of Texas, California, and Oklahoma combined.
