I understand a large number of blue dog democrats are becoming appalled at these huge, out of control spending bills and are probably going to start voting against them.

Obama, Pelosi and Gang are probably wondering "WHO LET THE DOGS OUT......WOOF WOOF WOOF"!! -

The first trillion of your children's money the Obama White House spent was dedicated primarily to paying back Democrat interest groups -- to getting all the people who organized voters to support Democrats on the security of the public dole: teachers unions, labor unions, Acorn. (What did social conservatives ever get for 30 years of support for the GOP that's remotely equivalent to just the first round of hard-left cash payouts now taking place?)

Let me predict: The second round of Obamaism will be about finding new ways to delegitimate and silence opposition to the Democrats' new governing coalition, whether it's threatening conscience protections around abortion or gay marriage, shrinking talk radio, or a "cap and trade" carbon tax that -- as Europe's experience shows -- does nothing to reduce carbon emissions but does mean that every business executive is now a supplicant to Washington. -

I find the comment "All the republicans want to do is say no" interesting. Well thank God that they are saying no to MORE spending. It's nuts to continue down this path. To all the Democrats out there where is all this money for spending coming from? when the world decides not to lend us any more money we will need to print it and then raise taxes for everyone.Inflation and higher taxes that is near future with these guys in office.

I don't remember hearing complaints when the Republican run congress passed huge amounts of pork laden bills and then cut taxes to boot. That is one reason we are in this mess, not the only one but still part of the problem. The GOP is being obstructionist which is fine as long as you have some new or better ideas to supplant the other ideas but they don't. From what I can tell the rest of you who are whining and complaining about us hateful libs is that you don't have any constructive ideas either. President Obama has been in office for a little over two months to suggest that this is all his fault is pure folly and terribly disingenuous. I don't think anyone is fond of this spending but to do nothing would be far worse. To do nothing could cause the complete collapse of this country. How many of you are ready willing and able to deal with that?

Obama. This is your chance. Refuse to sign the bill when it is presented until not one single Earmark is left in the bill.
Reply
Since the Republicans placed 40% of the Earmarks in the bill, that means that of the 9000 earmarks, 3,600 came from Republicans. Refuse to sign the bill and see what kind of howl arises from both the Republicans and the Democrats.
The Republican plan for the next four years is to submarine Obama. They don't expect you to veto whatever they send up because then you could be branded as the cause of the shutdown of the government. All along the problem is coming from the congress.
Veto anything that comes to your desk with an earmark Obama, and you will never hear a gripe again. -

I agree CHAM , this is all in Obamas habds now. Bush is gobne a he now has the power. He can keep his word OR he can be shown as a lair that cannot be trusted with these first few months. REPS cannot make him a LIAR, all he needs to do is keep his promiss and send it back until ALL the pork is withdrawn.
