Tim Geithner hasn't even been able to fill 17 posts he needs in Treasury just to help run the place. I'd like to know what the tax cheat has been doing since he took office. He sure hasn't come up with any plans the will turn the economy around.

It is amazing to me that Geithner was even confirmed in the first place. For someone who has been non-compliant tax wise for at least a couple of decades to be put in charge of exacting compliance from the rest of us, is, well, kind of like putting the fox in charge of the hen house.

Could be the lack of talent filling the posts might have something to do with no one wanting to be the scapegoat for what might be coming next. (You know, how there are just some people you don't want to stand too close to, for whatever reason?) -

Geez...can't even get a complete cabinet with staff installed...such incompetence, although corruption discovered about the appointees has played a significant part in the debacle.

Then, the pork-filled stimulus, the 400 billion omnibus, new bailout requests, health care reform, the Limbaugh "fun" as Press Secretary Gibbs calls it, and Obama flitting here and there "campaigning". What a cluster f--k these first few weeks have been.
This country needs stability and confidence and Obama isn't providing it. -

Personal opinion here: I think that Obama makes a pronouncement, and hands it to a cabinet member. Then the cabinet says what he thinks he should, and Obama says, "No, never".

There is no leadership, no philosophy, but no freedom for the cabinet people to do their job as they see fit. No one wants a job when they don't know the rules, don't know their goals, and don't know how they are supposed to get there.
So far, there have been several sandbagings. No truly qualified person wants to be chopped to pieces in the media. -

and then it goes on to say Gupta went on Larry King to discuss his decision.
without much explanation? the guy went on Larry King to talk about it, and he explained quite a bit. and his reasons were pretty good, especially with a kid on the way and the propspect of hardly being able to see that kid over the next few years.
perhaps CNN knew Gupta would be explaining it away big time, later that day (on CNN) so they didn't want to explain too much ahead of time. (ratings. we're talking about ratings here, people).

What a damn joke. The real powers-that-be finally allow a black man to become President of the United States of America at the time America and Western culture is in decline and its political, financial and cultural institutions are at its worse. Open your eyes, folks. You can believe the full collapse is going to be blamed on Obama. Not only was he set up to further the diabolical agenda of the New World Order (because he's exotic and would be accepted especially after 8 horrific years under puppet Bush and the desperate fear gripping the country and the world). Use your imaginations. Do any of you really think Obama would have become President if America were still in prosperity mode? Doubt it! We wanted someone we thought was different(not really - fooled again), because the same good-ole boys and girls (basically whites) just weren't cutting it anymore. So, in steps Barack Obama. And when he fails, and fail he will, in the eyes of the dead-head, flouridated, media-mind controlled sheople, all their anger, disappointment and ire will focus on so-called President Obama, instead of the real culprits pulling his strings from behind the curtain of tyranny, lies, falsehood and secret socities. Yes, Obama is guilty by association only because he continues to follow the script, but he, nor any other Presidents before him were the true culprits. However, because of our ignorance, complacency, tolerance and general refusal to look reality in its cold, hard eyes and stand up as free men and women to effect concrete change in what was once our government, we stand to permanantly lose that liberty. And ultimately WE have to face the fact that when it really comest o blame WE have to look in the mirror and not at government, Obama or the NWO - because they only represent our dark-sided neglect as irresponsible citizens of this once great America. I pray for us all. Whatever good that will do.

Saw a fascinating clip on Fox last night. This guy was presenting a theory by some Ruskie Stalin killed, an economist, who actually published a 60-year boom-bust cycle. It was almost unnerving how well this economist both predicted and tied human behavior to economic outcomes. Wish I could remember the name.

I thought Gupta had been mentioned but not selected? I've interviewed at several firms at the same time, selected the best fit and then let the others know I was no longer in the running. It was no slap at the other places, I simply didn't have to move. Republicans froth at the mouth at any potential slight to Obama. What will you do when he turns the economy around? Oh the humanity!
