Interesting information SenorCoconut. Any information as to when that test might become available?

      Think about it

Do you really want to know?
As the article notes: The blood test can be used on a large scale and is much more simple and user-friendly than the current genetic tests. This finding also offers prospects for the early detection of FTD caused by a shortage of progranulin.

Further scientific research is needed to determine how a shortage of progranulin can be restored to normal.

If you get tested and the test shows you are at risk, can you live with that knowing there is absolutely no treatment available right now?
Think about how stressful that would be
In my experience as an RN, not many people are able to deal with that type of situation very well

Great another genetic marker to make it even harder for people to get affordable healthcare in the future. If you test postitive what happens to the insurance rates?
