"The Senate worked late on Thursday trying to pass the $410 billion appropriations bill, which was denounced by Republicans — and a handful of Democrats — who said it was bloated and filled with wasteful, pork-barrel spending projects. Democratic leaders were forced to postpone a final vote on the measure until Monday under pressure from GOP senators who complained that Democrats hadn't allowed them enough opportunities to offer amendments."

good article, stoners. Hopefully, the "amendments" that the Senate Republicans are being given the opportunity to make will be deep, deep cuts rather than more additions.

Actually the earmarks will probably create more private jobs than the stimulus package expenditures. Both are wasteful.

ALL Americans should be in uproar knowing the waistful spending in this package from both sides. ALL Americans should be in up roar that most haven't even read what they are signing. FACT- YOU pay these representatives exactly to do what they are not. They are to read legislation and vote upon it on the basis for what is good for America and the people they are representing. FACT this is NOT being done. FACT Obama promissed he would not allow this to happen. FACT The republican party is showing they are once again anything but conservative. FACT- The dems are porking up as they always have. SADDEST FACT- WE the people of the USA will once again be the losers in the entire process and WE will be the ones paying for the misreprestation of OUR interest by OUR elected officials.
