Her politics sucked - she made propaganda films for Hitler - but The Economist wrote that Triumph of the Will "sealed her reputation as the greatest female filmmaker of the 20th century."

I was hoping to find some other significant fheavy-hitters, like Helen Mirren, Liv Ullman, Jeanne Moreau who are just the first three who come into my head..
As a youngster I had the distinct pleasure of sitting in on Siobhan McKenna rehearsing "St Joan" but that was in the theatre, of course.. -

Of the films listed, I've seen seven of them...of those seven, I really enjoyed 5 of them, and generally liked the other two.

I've always liked films about strong women, and each of those seven films show that women are as strong a force, if not stronger, than men... -

Ok, point taken... It's just a tad old. They were great but now I'm so bored. I'd rather be focussing on higher possibilities that include teleportation, for example.

I wonder what body of consumerism was actually responsible for the decisions regarding our so called equality? Who deemed that 'equal' meant that 'women must be the same as men,' and how did it become so popular to deny our differences in our natures... (Rhetorical. Women really bought into this one!)
When I was sixteen, I wondered who would raise the kids if all were working. Now my generation is largely a group of child blamers. (Great work!)
Moreover, women are still held the majority of the domestic task (overall) and we rarely realize(d) equal pay in a corporate venue. (But had we a big house, a vacation, a cottage and 2 cars! Too bad no time to enjoy any of it much.)
So, as far as I can tell, I was correct as a teen - we doubled our work and we still can't pay our bills. I wonder who was really behind the feminist movement??? Who did it really benefit?? Oh ya, that top 5% thats been living off the backs for the masses. That's who benefitted. (Fortunately that system is breaking down - finally.)
I don't know about the majority of women but myself and most of my friends around the age of 50 are done!! We have nothing to prove and never did actually. We always knew who we were and the smart ones accepted our nature. (Do we argue with tree's and demand that they grow purple leaves??) We are who we are and We ARE naturally equal to men internally BUT in a very opposite way according to our natures.
All we all need to do is stop doing it all - individually and start to work together. We need to realize our differences and focus on what we are good at, begin to understand each other, communicate, trust each other and mostly we need to develop some respect for each other.
Obviously we can all do each others jobs, there is no issue there. The day we get that the 'dream' is the nightmare, is that day the real dream can begin to be dreamt! (Hopefully the youth is working on that.)
My point here: We are the most inefficient species in existence. Crisis prevails all around and we are out of time. The ego has had it's run. If we want to survive, we need to negate the ego and get with the program by reintegrating ourselves into nature, redeveloping, redefining our desire for life. Nature is bigger and wiser than we have ever known. Let's let it teach us how to learn again. Let's pull ourselves out of this sewer and back to a place of intelligence. Let's become students of life, in the right direction.
I am tired of living in hate but more than that I am bored out of my mind.
