"Shooting our satellite for peaceful purposes will precisely mean a war," the general staff of the North's military said in a statement carried Monday by the official Korean Central News Agency."

"Any interception will draw "a just retaliatory strike operation not only against all the interceptor means involved but against the strongholds" of the U.S., Japan and South Korea."

"The North has ordered military personnel "fully combat ready," KCNA said in a separate dispatch."

A twice-repeated pattern might be developing again-- A discredited republican administration is replaced by a charismatic democrat and a world war starts.

Kim will start a war if he becomes convinced that Obama will not back the south, which he might not do considering the importance of the anti-war movement to his election. Conversely if a war starts and Obama comes to the aid of the south, China might secretly back the north hoping for an opportunity to grab Taiwan. Russia might also aid the north just to make the US as miserable as possible.
