The United States respects the territorial integrity of the People's Republic of China and considers Tibet to be part of China. At the same time, we are deeply concerned by the human rights situation in Tibetan areas.

These people have been suffering for so long I am surprised we even think about it anymore. I suppose it is no longer the glamour issue of the world so we forget that the problems in Tibet are still there
