This is a quiz that is built to rate how "progressive" someone is, though it works just as well in reverse. A lower score means you are more conservative and a higher score means you are more progressive.

I'm mainly posting this to see how liberal/conservative the Propeller community is, mainly just to see how far it ranges. Curiosity, really.
Full disclosure: I scored a 388 out of 400 on this.-

This is not fair! I thought I was extremely progressive with my 341, but after reading the other scores, I have to conclude that mine is rather mediocre.

I guess the right-wingers are right: Propeller is a meeting place of the pinko commies (or is it commie pinkos?) -

This was fun, but I was frustrated by the abundance of loaded questions. For instance,

Question 23 says "The war in Iraq has proven that the US cannot impose democracy on other nation." I agree 100 percent that the US shouldn't impose its democratic ideals on other nations, but a poorly managed Iraq war hardly proves that.
Question 33 says "Government programs for the poor undermine individual initiative and responsibility." Of course they do, but that doesn't mean they aren't worthwhile. They just need to be very carefully administered.
There were lots of items that I agreed with fundamentally, but which purported or presumed motivations that were totally off base, so I couldn't comfortably agree with them. It was still fun, though. My score - 156. -

Loaded Qs
Reply
Q 1: The market did not fail. Government fiddling, which removed fear from the market, failed.
Q 2: Reflects relative levels of isolationist sentiments. Is isolationism "progressive"?
Q 24: The wars in Europe, followed by the Marshall Plan, which has developed into the EU proved that you can't impose democracy at the point of a gun. Right?
Q 29: Free trade. Heaven help us if curbing trade is "progressive".
Q 35: Military force most effective... nonsense question (loaded to the gills)
The trouble with the moniker "progressive" is that it implies progress for the body politic.-

And the problem with the moniker "conservative" is that the only thing they think needs conserving is their own wallets. The environment and everything else be damned. The questions gave you the ability to answer them on a 1-10 system so you partly agree, fully agree, partly disagree, disagree, or remain neutral. The test wasn't presenting one particular point of view. I thought it was objective enough. It asked a gamut of questions and based on using different answers to the questions each time, the outcome always changed accordingly. A more fitting term for a conservative would be a "moneymiser".

How is Q1 loaded? I think I fall into the very progressive range, yet I would agree wholeheartedly that it was not the market that failed. The market has never been allowed to be free.

Did you think that was a question only conservatives would agree with?

You may be a bit fiscally conservative and I consider myself this as well. While I certainly believe in an active and "large" government, I also believe in prioritizing things and cutting funding to programs that show they aren't working or have an extreme cost for the results obtained. Though I am a bit of a socialist at heart.

Despite the claims of it being loaded it does tend to produce the results that would be expected. This isn't my favorite type of this (I do prefer the four-quadrant continuum as opposed to just a numerical scale) but the results tend to be fairly consistent and people generally get where they feel they are.
