    Although this bill will never get the Governor's signature, it is a first and rather bold step for Maryland. Recall, this is the land of GOP Chair Michael Steele, who seems to think that gay people are nothing more than an evil pariah. Hence, I would be surprised if gays and lesbians were allowed to have the right to assemble, speak or for that matter, live in Maryland. I know that may sound extreme, but how much better is Maryland than say Texas?
