What happens when you cheat on your taxes? For one thing, you could lose your nomination for a cabinet position in the Obama administration. You could end up in jail like Wesley Snipes, or you could end up with a big fine. You may think these kinds of penalties only happen to the famous tax cheats, but regular folks get in hot water too. From minor offenses to major tax fraud, click through our gallery to see what will happen to you if you cross these lines when filing your taxes.

There seem to be many in government which aren't too worried about getting their taxes paid. There doesn't t seem to be any large penalty involved either . just an Oh i sorry I must have overlooked that.

It may encourage individuals to take a more active role in the filings. I have to wonder how many give their taxes to someone else to do and just assume everything is ok.

Get rid of the current tax system. Flat tax or consumption tax is the way to go to keep you out of jail or penalties and interest that will financially destroy you.
