Auto makers push for higher-quality fuel »

In January, 2008, the federal government first indicated plans to revise fuel consumption regulations for new vehicles. At the time, the U.S. government was going down the same road. Our emission, fuel economy and safety regulations have been in lockstep with the Americans because the same vehicles are either built in or sold in both countries, so the tighter standards made sense.

It argues that fuel quality directly impacts vehicle performance, fuel economy and emissions. The association says characteristics such as sulphur and detergency in gasoline and other elements in diesel can either optimize or degrade vehicle components, affecting the performance not only of new vehicles, but also those currently on the road.

      Hey automakers,
if you want to talk about fuel, how about we talk about you making and selling us cars that get decent gas mileage?

You aren't fooling most of us, we know you can and DO make cars that get great gas mileage, but us Americans can't have them!

      And here we go....
For instance, Ford makes a car, it's called the new Fiesta, it gets 65 miles per gallon, read about it here...
      http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Investing/Ext...

Ford has some lame excuse that they can't sell this car in America because it runs on DIESEL.
Hey Dumb a$$es, since when have cars that run diesel been outlawed in the USA????

Now, all this may leave you wondering, why does Ford refuse to sell us this car that gets 65 MPG?
Well, I'm here to tell you why they refuse to sell it to us.

Thanks to our environmentalist friends, who are pushing very hard for Hybrid cars to be made and sold to us, then we can't have the Fiesta, here's why.

At best, these goofy and (Expensive) Hybrid cars get around 45 miles per gallon. Now, if Ford sold us the 65 MPG Fiesta, then that would make the Hybrid cars look like they get crappy gas mileage in comparison. In fact, why would anyone buy an expensive Hybrid car that gets only 40 to 45 MPG if they could buy the Fiesta that gets 65 MPG? To top it off, the Fiesta is far less expensive then the Hybrids to buy.

yes, once again we are being SCREWED by the insane idea's of the environmentalists.

The Fiesta is just one example of cars that get fantastic MPG. Europe has many cars that even get batter then 65 MPG. Do a Google on the words (Volkswagen Lupo) the Volkswagen lupo gets upwards to 100+ MPG, of course, we can't have that car either.

So much for the great work that environmentalists are doing for us. They clearly stand in our way of many things that would actually make our country better and stronger. Just think how much money we could save in gas costs if we had inexpensive cars like the new Ford Fiesta, that gets 65 MPG!

These left wing environmentalists, need to back the F off us. They make it seem they are doing good things for us, but in reality, they are doing just the opposite to us.

      Also, to our Ford friends,
You idiots are asking us for BILLIONS of $s to keep your company running.
Hey, here's an ingenious idea for you. SELL US THE Fiesta, you could sell a COUNTRY FULL of them and get yourselves out of financial trouble, and would have no reason to come begging to us to bail your lame a$$es out. Our country is being lead around by a bunch of stupid and ridiculous MORONS!

You lefty environmentalists can try to spin this, but most of us know better.

Read about it... Volkswagen Lupo 3L Once Again Enters Guiness Book of World Records for the worlds best MPG car! 100+ MPG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        http://www.vwvortex.com/cgi-bin/artman/exec/view.c...

It's not just a car here and a car there that get GREAT gas mileage. MANY cars made and sold in Europe get 50 to 75 MPG or more. Yet again, we can't have them! All thanks to our environmentalists friends!

          To continue my rant...

As I said above, many car makers in Europe make cars that get around 60 to 75 MPG.
Auto makes such as Mercedes, Jaguar Etc, do make cars that get upwards to 60 to 75 MPG.
But they are not allowed to export them to the USA. These car companies Mercedes, Jaguar Etc. make the same models of cars that we buy, the only difference is that our versions of them get crappy MPG! Now, you tell me we are not being screwed! Go ahead and TRY to convince us this is all BS. Facts are facts, no matter what you try to tell us. The environmentalists need to back off us.

And here's some more FACTS for you.

These cars that get 60 to 80 MPG, are NOT bad polluting cars, that's BS. The fact is, they run so efficiently, that their exhaust is much cleaner then even our Hybrid cars that get far less gas mileage. That's just common sense. If they get good MPG and run so efficiently, then they do indeed burn cleaner. No one with a brain can say otherwise.

Stoners The problem with the auto industry is that they can't bring themselves to understand that most average American can't afford them, they want too much and no one wants to take a big risk when you have to pay them for a guarantee. Ford did not start out that way and that is just like paying a CEO for failing. I don't see myself getting lucky enough any time soon for a green car. My nephew bought one of these trucks that starts out running on gas and then it kicks over to electricity. He seems happy with it so far. If time is running out on this global warming issue, one would think that our government would be happy to fix it so the cars we need to combat global warming where available to buy and at a very cheap price and very fast. The combating of global warming should have started long long ago.
