Obama VA: Let’s charge vets for care on service-related injuries »
Posted By pc25 8 months ago in NewsIf the Obama administration wanted to come up with the most politically offensive policy it could imagine, within the bounds of reason and reality, what elements would it have to include? Insulting veterans and looking like cheapskates in a time when massive government outlays to private industry would certainly help it along. Comes now Hero of the Anti-War Left, retired General Eric Shinseki, who wants to save a few bucks at the Veterans Administration by making men and women injured in the service of our country pay for their care:

...hmmm I wonder if what's under consideration is providing private insurance to veterans so that they can seek treatment wherever they want.

The "it" in "it's under consideration" - the entirety of the source of the article, it seems, is undefined. Why not reveal the question as well? That which "it" refers to would be there. I suppose it might be much less offensive to us all if they did. -

This article seems to be a bit out of context, PC25. Care to provide a link that reflects ALL of the considerations of this supposed plan? Was there to be any consideration for providing private coverage so that the vets could go where ever they pleased?

Confusing.

Is the administration trying to make vets pay for treatment of their injuries, or is the administration looking to make commercial insurance pay primary, as it does with many Medicare (MSP) beneficiaries?
These are two separate issues. If the agenda is to make vets pay out of pocket, its shameful. If it is merely a question of coordination of benefits, Hotair bimbos should stop living up to their names and speak plainly.

And people used to complain that Bush didn’t care enough about veteran care - even though he increased the VA budget by 56% from 2001 to 2008. Bush never offered the notion that the nation should shirk its duty to those who gave their health for the defense of America, especially not in the same week in which his administration signed a record omnibus bill with 8,000 pork items in it.-

Remember all of those stories about the living conditions if the Vets were outpatient?

The fact that this administration would even consider this is very telling
They have NO respect or concern for the military!
Shinseki is a disgrace
He was wounded in Vietnam. He should know better! -

Off topic, but I couldn't help but notice that most, if not all, persons dropping this article usually have nothing to add constructive other than blaming Bush when an article is critical of the "Anointed One."

All of this mock indignation was absent when the Bush administration lawyers argued against providing vets with healthcare on taxpayer dime.

They even took the case to Federal COURT to deny care.
The garbage you have posted is a cost cutting proposal, not policy.
Dont let reality get in the way of your America hating ideology, pc.

How on earth can anyone ask a person to DIE for their country, then expect them to have insurance to pay for their own care?
These people are either the dumbest or the most arrogant self absorbed jerks on earth.
Sounds like a John Murtha suggestion.
This is just insane.
