Sorry I could not take the time to watch the video this morning but I read some of the comments under the video as well as here, around our house there was very little violence by our children or from the many children that my wife badysat. If some thing like this had happened at our house I was not into the spanking or the time out stuff, usually I would take the kid and wrap my arms around them sort of like a bear hug and sit on the sofa holding them until they realized that they were not going to be allowed to play of even move until I decided to set them free, and ususally just before I released them I would quietly tell them that I was bigger, stronger and more patient than they were and they would live by our rules while in our house.

Some parents are very confused over the idea of punishing a child since we have alot of people out there who make a real issue of disipline, and even how I disiplined my children might have beeen called emotional abuse but one has to do something or bad becomes worse.
From not viewing the video I don't know the age or size of this kid but sure would of liked to have been there, I have found that forcing one to submit by sort of passive measures leaves an lasting impression. -

BB, Thanks for jumping to all sorts of conclusions. You seem to be averse to a bit of difference of opinion. My passively disagreeing with you must have hit a serious cord in your past.

My parents were also strict with me and I also believe in controlling children's asocial behavior, however, I do not believe that to "...knock him so c o c k-eyed that he won't be able to look straight ahead in a year..." is going to solve his problem.
I seriously reject your insistence on calling my mother or any mother crude and demeaning names by using abusive and disparaging epithets. You should be glad that you are not standing in front of me at this moment.
Calling mothers hate names really negates your original argument promoting violent behavior as a controlling tool.
I can only say that I feel very sorry for you and hope you regain some of your self-respect.

It all comes down to parenting or lack of it,at home my kids fear my wife more than me,my wife controls the household with tone of voice commands and they work all the time.My kids are happy to get away with mumbles of discontent and only as they are retreating the area fast.As for me i give facial expressions and they also work fine.If your kid ever raises a hand at you you must respond without any hesitation, children need to know that there are consequences for every action taken!
