If you talk to God, you are praying; if God talks to you, you have schizophrenia »
Posted By FunnyBoyz 8 months, 2 weeks ago in Health & FitnessThat is not actually true. But it is known that if you go around saying God talks to you, most people are going to believe you are crazy. And in some cases I’ m sure they’ re right. As for schizophrenia, I believe it is so far beyond human understanding. It is truly an unfortunate condition. What is, even more unfortunate is people who are not able to realize that God does reveal him-self to you everyday. And if you were to listen; it doesn’ t make you crazy. I understand that many people may refer to God by other names. People pray to God through different means. Some may not want to believe in God. But it is undeniable that a greater force is running this world. What makes the sun rise in the morning? What makes the sun set in the evening? And I’ m not asking the “ how.” Science can explain that. The real question is why? We have learned everything we know from this world. And there still is so much more to go.

Problem is few people are trained to communicate with God. Even in Catholic/Christian schools they teach you little more than to ask for God's forgiveness. It's thought that, if everybody on earth were trained to talk with God / their higher selves / the Universe, our governing systems would dissolve like jelly.

It's not hard. It's just finding guidance, keeping your mind clear from everything going on, and taking time to work on it. -

Didn't you hear God's voice when you were trying on Mormonism for a fit?
I mean Joseph Smith heard God's voice coming from a rock in a magic hat. You mean you didn't hear it? -

Belief is not about what we want, either you do or you don't. If you doubt this, try believing in Santa or the Toothfairy. Do you now believe in Santa or the Toothfairy? Or are you just kidding yourself?
As to the why. Why not? If we hadn't evolved on a planet with a sun we wouldn't be here to ask why in the first place. Why is the slight depression in the ground the perfect fit for the puddle? -

Hmm, Quotes from Albert Einstein

"I want to know God's thoughts; the rest are details."
"The only real valuable thing is intuition."
"intuition, in philosophy, way of knowing directly; immediate apprehension. The Greeks understood intuition to be the grasp of universal principles by the intelligence (nous), as distinguished from the fleeting impressions of the senses. The distinction used by the Greeks implied the superiority of intellectual intuitions over information received by the senses. Christian thinkers made a distinction between intuitive and discursive knowledge: God and angels know directly (intuitively) what men reach by reasoning. "
"My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind."
Maybe our thoughts "be still you shall know me" is God talking to us. -

I don't think that's true. Bush was very clear in that he believed God spoke to him directly. Most Americans didn't find that crazy.
Despite the facts that the fruits of such conversations were anything but Godly.-

God speaks to us through the His written Word. Unfortunately, most have never read the Bible and when they have tried they don't understand it. The reason being is what the Apostle Paul recorded in 1 Corinthians 2:14, "But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." We talk to God when we pray, and He speaks to us threw the Scriptures. As someone once said, "the Bible is God love letters to His children."

You really shouldn't use "prooftexting" (taking a short quote out of context) to "prove" your points. Especially when your prooftexting is used to belittle other people. It's not particularly Christlike and as a little-Christ (literal meaning of Christian), you should use Him as your guide and example.

Maybe God talks to all of us the question is are we listening? I believe he has spoken to me. Nothing earth shattering but it was eye opening to say the least. I was driving alone south on I-95 between Jacsonville,Fl and Daytona,Fl, when it was 2 lanes one-way. It was dark and I looked in my rear view when a voice said to watch the truck that was in the left lane three vehicles back. I watched and nothing looked wrong but the voice said keep watching. The truck came along side and nothing seemed wrong the truck passed me pulled into my lane in front of me, he didn't cut me off but he did pull of on the shoulder and stopped. If it wasn't God then who told me to watch that truck.

I know a guy who god talked to. I worked with this preacher in a factory. I asked him why he decided to become a preacher. He said god actually spoke to him and asked him to become a preacher. This happened when he was in a hospital with a complete mental break down.
