Posted By Digitalis 9 months, 2 weeks ago in NewsA single-engine airplane traveling from Urbana, Illinois to Ada, Ohio crash landed in a corn field just short of the runway at Bellefontaine Municipal Airport in Bellefontaine, Ohio. A few minutes before 3 PM on Sunday, March 15 th , the engine failed on the Beechcraft Sierra (N9348S) forcing the pilot to divert to Bellefontaine and attempt an emergency landing. Kevin Mierzejewski, the pilot of the plane attempted to reach the airport, but landed short of the runway in the corn field.
