IRAN has not produced the highly enriched uranium necessary for a nuclear weapon and has not decided to do so, US intelligence officials told Congress.

This assessment contrasts with a stark Israeli warning days earlier that Iran had crossed the "technological threshold" in its pursuit of the bomb.

  Hell, they'd just falsify intelligence, lie to Congress and the American people, and invade Iran with no other plan than to make money on the deal.

      how can US intelligence officals determine intent? they can make a statement, but why should you , I or anyone believe them?
      
      the processing to go from .7% to 5% is no differnt than the processing to go from 5% to 70% or better. 90+% makes for the smallest bomb sizes possible.
      
      i wonder if the US position isn't being intentionally colored to promote/leave the door open for some kind of dialogue with the iranians. the israeli viewpoint, which i agree with, just on technical grounds, doesn't have to be laden with worrying about dealing diplomatically with iran.
      
      every day those centrifuges spin is another day closer to a bomb.

        I guess you got a point there beaver. Let's not use our intelligence agencies recommendations. Let's do the same thing that got us into the war with Iraq. We'll just use some speculation about centrifuges turning. (remember aluminum tubes?) That oughta get us another trillion dollars to takeover and occupy Iran.
