During his electoral campaign in 2008 Mr. Barack Obama said repeatedly that if he was elected president of the United States of America, he would talk to the Taliban. At the time, Obama’s rival, Ms. Hillary Clinton described Obama’s wish as “naïve and irresponsible”. Now she is Obama’s Secretary of State and has got to obey her boss. But is it really possible to appease the Taliban?
