ACORN to Play Role in 2010 Census »
Posted By RedRiverJ 7 months, 3 weeks ago in NewsOct. 29, 2008: Steve Kest, executive director of ACORN, right, and ACORN member Hugh Alleyne listen to a question during
a news conference in Washington (AP).
The U.S. Census is supposed to be free of politics, but one group with a history of voter fraud, ACORN, is participating in next year's count, raising concerns about the politicization of the decennial survey.
The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now signed on as a national partner with the U.S. Census Bureau in February 2009 to assist with the recruitment of the 1.4 million temporary workers needed to go door-to-door to count every person in the United States -- currently believed to be more than 306 million people.

Preparing for another neat and tidy fraudulent win for the Democrats in 2012 with ACORN who CLAIMS to be a non-partisan grassroots community organization of low and moderate income people.

Yeah, right. I'd love to see how many republicans they registered last election.
This is an outrage!-

ACORN Is A Bad Seed
Reply
Something’s rotten in the state of New Mexico, and Ohio, and Michigan, and Pennsylvania, and Florida, and…
ACORN says it is a community group, but it is really a multi-million-dollar, multinational conglomerate. Its political agenda is driven by a relative handful of anti-corporate activists. ACORN spends millions of dollars to promote economic policies (like raising the minimum wage), but has admitted that it doesn't always want to abide by them. ACORN advocates for workers' rights and runs two unions, but has in the past fought its own employees' efforts to form a union.

ACORN's history makes for pretty interesting reading. The Clinton Administration found that ACORN was misspending government grants designed to help counsel the poor. Although it seeks minimum wage increases in cities and states across the country -- ACORN sued the state of California to get out of paying its own employees the state minimum wage.

ACORN's practices have corrupted our political process as well. It has engaged in questionable election activities for years—stretching back even to the organization's founding years in Arkansas. In recent years, as its political power has increased, so have instances of fraud.-

In the past few years, it has been investigated for election fraud in at least a dozen states.

ACORN is, at its core, politically corrupt, while to the 'viewing public', they pass themselves off as truthful champions for the common people and working man.

'Between the sheets' they are new age Marxist's and very well funded and they do have an agenda that is basically un-American. -

The fact that ACORN hasn't been investigated under the RICO statutes to date is appalling.

But don't hold your breath for Holder's Justice Department to do it now. If anything, he'll petition for pardons, a la Marc Rich and the FALN. -

ACORN’s annual operating budget
Reply
is around $30 million.11 The New York Times
subsequently reported that the figure is closer to $37.5
million, excluding the non-profit research and housing
organizations the group runs.12 Even this estimate likely
does not include the vast resources of the ACORN-run
unions or reflect election-year resources given to its
ostensibly non-partisan get-out-the-vote efforts. -

"Buckner said the bureau received an overwhelming number of qualified applicants -- more than 1 million -- for the 140,000 census taker jobs filled to complete the first phase of the effort. Each applicant, he said, must take a basic skills exam, which includes reading a map and entering data into a hand held computer. Applicants are also subject to an FBI background check, he said."-

The basic skills test should disqualify ACORN temporary workers. Ha! I don't believe they will be given a test and note that it says, applicants are also subject to an FBI background check. Does "subject" mean they will have be "given" a background check or they "could" be given a background check. I'm going to assume the latter and it will never happen for ACORN recruits.

Wow, this statement in the opening paragraph is why many of us know Fox has no business being called a "news" outlet.

"but one group with a history of voter fraud, ACORN"
Right here, they smear ACORN with the statement that they have committed voter fraud in the past, though nothing has ever been proven. FOX just puts it out there as fact, nothing to back it up.
Later in the article, it does go on to use the word allegations - but it's too late, they've already been condemned in the first paragraph.
"lawmakers who say past allegations of fraud should raise concerns about the organization."
Whatever, we've been over all this. Dishonest workers making false applications to boost their numbers (which were later rejected: by ACORN itself!) looks to reasonable people like individual corruption, to right-wing die-hards it's proof of systematic corruption and an attempt to fix elections.-

They were being indicted in Wisconsin on around 90 charges of fraud. That ended with Obama's ascension to the throne. The case was closed, tabled or whatever you do after the paperwork was filed and grand jury finished whatever it was doing. Wisconsin's governor is also to blame. We have no voter id laws and he continues to refuse to sign the bill to mandate one.

So whether FOX makes claims like that or not, I am concerned anytime an organization with as questionable a reputation as Acorn has is involved with anything. It's like the KKK. I'm told they've done some good over the years. I don't believe it at all and I don't trust them. The same is true for Acorn.

I wonder if this is being paid for in the porkulus bill. I'm sure if they count the number of liberals "will increase" by what, 2-3 million? Those liberals in DC must think we're all a bunch of mindless liberals who will just follow their "pearls of wisdom" w/out question. Who's really electing these idiots?
