Army to Stop Extending Tours Beyond Service Obligations »

Gates announced today that the Army will virtually eliminate the unpopular practice of " stop loss" -- or mandating that soldiers stay in the Army beyond their service obligation -- by March 2011 and will offer extra pay to soldiers whose service is extended under the policy.

A lot has changed tadair. We don't have a lying S.O.B. as commander in chief like we did for the previous eight years..Personally ,when we are are war i think a draft should be instituted and all should bear the cost.

BTW..."except under extreme conditions."...that has been there for a long,long time...that hasn't changed.
