Building a theory of dark matter annihilation »
Posted By myfairlady 8 months, 1 week ago in Science & TechnologyDark matter is kind of old-hat in these exciting days of dark energy. Nevertheless, we don't know very much about it. We know that it exists, we have a very good idea of where it is, and we even know how much of it is around—but we don't know what it is or how it interacts with other matter aside from via gravity. These are now central questions for those who study dark matter, but they are also expected to be a short-lived ones. We can expect some pretty good answers in the next ten years as the LHC begins to build up a large database of collisions and data comes in from many cosmological observations that are already in progress.

Once it was thought the Earth was flat. Imagine the impact on navigation, weather forecast, or other practical applications that depend on knowing the Earth is round and revolves around the Sun. It was a time when the church protected ignorance, claiming science that went against their beliefs was heresy. The church chopped off heads to show their belief in God. For those that believe in GOD, as I do, his truth is a constant. No matter the study, his word will stand. Einstein was seeking truth. Many theory existed for centuries, but through exploration, new discoveries have toppled them; however off the path a finding may seem many has meant a lot to improve the way we live. In looking for the meaning of dark matter, some person may link a finding to curing cancer.
