I think that article makes a optimistic person sound extremely unrealistic, I don't know any optimistic people like that, not a one. You certainly can lean towards one or the other, but if you are total as in 'always' this or that, you're either severely depressed or on the other side..I don't know what? some nut?!

Though this article oversimplifies things,there is some truth in it.Positive thinking,(optimism?),does help in marginal situations.However,it isn't true to say,"all optimists are happy and all pessimists are unhappy".In the final analysis,we are all a mixture of optimism and pessimism.

There's a large and growing body of psychological research which shows the positive correlates of an optimistic attitude toward life. I'm pleased to see, even more so, the newest research on "Happiness." Yes psychologists, after a hundred years of studying all of the ways to be unhappy, have turned their research skills toward learning pathways to happiness.
