Federal Reserve officials knew for months about bonuses at American International Group but failed to tell the Obama administration, according to government and company officials, exposing problems in a relationship that is vital to addressing the financial crisis.

As pressure mounted on AIG employees to return the bonuses, new details emerged yesterday about what the Fed, the Treasury Department and the White House knew regarding the payments and when. AIG executives said the Fed was informed three months ago by the company that it would pay $165 million by March 15 to employees working at its most troubled division. The Treasury and White House said they learned of the payments from Fed officials only days before they were due.

      NEW COURSE LISTING FOR THE SPRING SEMESTER!!-

      Economic Sociological Pathological Historical Chemistry 101-

      First Session- The Basic Reaction:

      AIG --> PIG

      Second Session-

      A paragon of propriety, the erstwhile Senator Dodd, caught with PANTS DOWN, evidently
      LYING OUTRIGHT about HIS responsibility in an attempt to"protect" those obscenely lucrative
      "bonuses", behind supposedly sacrosanct principles of “contract law”.

      Third Session-

      ??? (Who knows.)
      ....

      Course synopsis:

      The student should come away with a greater understanding of the capacity of ostensibly upstanding, responsible (MIS)"leadership" of a society (ANY society --- INCLUDING THIS supposedly "enlightened, superior" one), to engage in the crassest sort of nonsense by way of defending the indefensible.

      Another point to be made is that the bozos who in many of the posts I’ve been seeing
      attempt to somehow hang all of this off on OBAMA are being PARTICULARLY pig-headed!

      If Obama, with his message and promise (or maybe threat?) of REAL CHANGE had NOT come along, then “we the people” would not now have been aroused to the heightened state of awareness (and the sheer WRATH!), that is what has ACTUALLY driven the general explosion of false mythology (and the exposure of “UDDER” BULLBLEEP!) that is now underway. "Our" wonderful Whiz-Bang MIS"leaders" would have just blown this right on by, and a downtrodden general populace would have just, once again, thought to themselves "What's the use?", collected their unemployment or welfare check, cracked open another beer, and cynically and sullenly averted their gaze while trivially trying to just "keep on keeping on".

      The fact of the matter, people, is that the increased level of general understanding of both "governmental" and also "corporate" political GREED machinations REALLY NEEDS TO BE MAINTAINED IN PERPETUITY(!), rather than being merely a sporadic, occasional "phenomenon"!
